Please join me and Lars Nordstrom for the Oregon City Library’s annual William Stafford Commemorative Birthday Celebration!
Where: Oregon City Library, 606 John Adams Street, Oregon City, OR 97045
When: Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 7:00pm
The theme of this year’s event is “Stafford’s Landscape – That Wide Country”.
From the Oregon City Library website:
Lars was born in Sweden where he lived until 1974. He has published books in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Canada, and Japan, as well as the United States. He currently divides his time between growing wine grapes and writing and translating literature.
Leah grew up in New York and moved to Oregon in 1993. She has published several books, and her poems have also appeared in the Oregonian, the Oregon Literary Review, and the NW Women’s Journal, among others. She currently hosts a monthly poetry reading and open mic at the Ross Island Café in SW Portland, and serves on the board of the Friends of William Stafford.
There will also be an open mic for the audience to join in with favorite Stafford poems and stories, and you can even see and hear William Stafford himself, reading the Methow River poems (via video, of course!).
We hope you will join us for this very special celebration.
